 "Great stovetop smoker" 2008-01-20
By G. Scott (New Orleans, LA USA)
My mom saw a stovetop smoker in some cooking show she was watching and decided that she had to have one. After research, this is the one I decided to go with, and she loved it. Simple, effective, easy directions, and she's had a lot of fun cooking with it. Its great to use indoors, without worries about weather or convenience. If I ever decide to get one for myself, this would be my choice again.

"No smoke in my eyes" 2007-07-10
By WFHoover (Las Vegas, NV)
Our first attempt with this item was a complete success. I smoked two pork tenderloins. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish and the meat was perfect. Since then we have smoked some salmon, cornich game hens, beef brisket, peppers, and onions. Everything turned out fine. I did find that I needed to "tweek" the smoking times a little to get the proper internal temperatures.

"Handy and unique, but could use a little refinement" 2006-08-31
By G. Paxton
I was inspired to purchase the smoker after seeing excellent feedback about it on Amazon, and I thought it would be a handy kitchen addition to use on with a high-protein diet. It is very useful and imparts unique flavors to foods: Pork loin is wonderful! It's great for cooking meaty, rich, and savory "guy food" when you're feeding someone who wants to sink their teeth into a memorable bit of beast. It is easy to use and meats cook more quickly than I expected... make sure to follow the directions in the handbook. I look forward to using it to whip up an impressive meal for a dinner party soon. For smoky grilled meats my husband usually fires up our full-size old fashioned Weber grill with mesquite chips; which seems like a lot of work for just two of us so I was hoping the smoker would be a less-fussy alternative to grilling. I found, however, that the results of the smoker are completely different than grilling, so it really isn't a replacement but good in its own right. Though the smoked items don't have that crispy char quality that grilling can impart; the foods are moist, savory, and fragrant. And now the downsides: The sliding lid and the rim of the base have very sharp knife-like edges; and given how large and heavy it is, it's a little harrowing to handle while trying not to get hurt. I've painfully cut my fingers twice on the lid, deep enough to require bandages. The smoker's size is a little awkward and it takes up a lot of space so we need to store it in the basement when not in use. Also, the drip pan did warp after 2 uses (I saw mention of this in other reviews), but it has not at all altered the functionality of the smoker. All in all, I would recommend the smoker if you can find it on sale. It makes for a novel method of indoor food preparation, but I don't think I'd pay the full $65 retail price for it.

 "A Fantastic Stove-Top Smoker!" 2006-08-20
By nielandoid (Mortville CA)
I use this smoker primarily for fish and it's also great for tofu and veggies. The only thing you'll need for perfect results is a kitchen timer- no guesswork, no fuss- you don't even need to turn the meat over! The smoker cooks/smokes fish in under 20 minutes and the results are sumptuous, tender and juicy. Solid stainless steel construction and easy cleanup, too! I find this model to be the perfect size if you're one, or a family.

My husband & I love smoked foods, but didn't want to take up a lot of outdoor space for a big smoker. This Cameron Stove-top Smoker was the perfect solution for us.The wonderful aroma of the wood chips fills the house with no smoking visible outside the pan.The stainless is high quality & it's easy to use & clean up when using foil & oil spray as suggested in directions. Our salmon turned out perfectly. The recipes included in the book all sound wonderful & are most helpful.I hope they come out with a whole cookbook soon.Great purchase!

 "worth the money" 2009-06-26
By Mark J. Dooley (Massachusetts)
This thing really works! I've only used it a few times and am still trying to figure temperature times but my salmon and ribs came out well. Great smoke flavor. I cooked chicken thighs and they also tasted good they were underdone and I had to finish in the oven. It does make your house smell a bit smoky but I like it.

"Smoke your foods with less effort and less time" 2009-04-24
By Z~
This stovetop smoker is amazing. We currently own the Char Broil Silver Smoker and it take 5+ hours to smoke fish and meats. The stovetop smoker can achieve the same results in about 30-40 minutes. I love using different varietities of the smoking chips and foods come out tender, juicy and full of flavor. Clean up is simple since I use foil to line the bottom of the drip pan. All I have to do is toss out the smoking chips ashes, peel back the aluminum foil, give it a quick wash and rinse to get any moisture or any food splatter on the lid and store it until the next use. This unit does not fill your house with smoke but you can smell the wonderful aroma of cedar, apple, mesquite or whatever flavor of chips you use.

Since I have a smooth top stove and do not want to scratch the surface, I use the stovetop smoker on top of Sanyo HPS-SG3 200-Square-Inch Electric Indoor Barbeque Grill, Black and also use it on with my Weber 586002 Q 320 Portable Outdoor Gas Grill. Using it on the Weber Grill gets slower cooking results but it is great to take to picnics and camping to smoke up those fish you catch!

 "Yummy!" 2009-04-15
By Krista Storms (Greenville, TX)
I bought this for my husband for our Anniversary (tin/alluminum). He loves to cook, but doesn't do it very often. I have not personally used it, but my husband says it is very easy to use. I can, however, vouch for the taste...YUMMY! He has made chicken and pork ribs in the smoker and they were delicious.

It doesn't fill the house with smoke, but if you put in hot peppers or hot spices with the meat, it will choke you. You may need to open windows and doors.
